About City Council

City Council meets the second and last Monday of each month.  In December, Council generally only meets the second Monday, due to the holidays.  In May, the council meeting on Memorial Day is typically rescheduled to the previous Monday.  

The City Council is elected, and each council person is elected for the duration of a 4-year term. The terms are staggered, and elections occur in April. The mayor is also elected for a 4-year term and oversees the direction of the city administrator.

Each City Council member is representative to all areas of the city.

City Council appoints members of the community to various boards and commissions focusing on specific areas of interest within the city.
