About Burlington

Established in 1888, Burlington was originally founded as a railroad town. Staying true to its heritage, aspects of life in Burlington during the late1800's and early 1900's can be explored at Burlington's Old Town Museum.  Old Town is a 21 building complex featuring life in the Wild West.  Such historical aspects are complemented with the world famous Kit Carson County Carousel, located in Burlington.  The 1906 Philadelphia Toboggan Carousel has been restored to its original character and offers guests the ability to ride the marvelous merry-go-round for just 25¢.

In the summer, baseball and softball teams travel from all over the nation to participate in the many tournaments hosted in Burlington, Colorado.  Known for quality tournaments and competetive play, Burlington has quickly become one of the preferred locations for quality activities and recreation programs in the region.

With a magnificent Community and Education Center, Burlington also hosts many statewide and regional meetings, events and confrences.  The 22,000 square foot complex is rented out for confrences, weddings, meetings, family reunions, community events and many other events.  With over 60 meetings and events each month, the Burlington Community and Education Center is a wonderful complement to the community.
